Selcouth Quartet

Forums:

Haven't seen hide nor hair of a mention of this band here (outside of once in this month's "Listening To" thread).

I'm considering checking out one of the dates on their New England run, particularly since they're playing at "My Live Music Spot". Stuart Bogie played on two of my favorite film scores from last year, and did a fine job as part of a few PLF lineups over the past couple years.

I think this band's got legs.

I've been thinking about this Thursday.

Seems like Joe Russo has got a nice relationship with the Sultan Room; his series of shows "This Is Gonna Be A Blast" has some pretty solid lineups. Next month is a trio with Nels Cline and John Medeski. Tomorrow nite is a four piece with Mike Gordon. Then this band on Thursday. Pretty cool.

Thanks for posting this, I noticed Russo's announcement about them awhile back but hadn't checked them out....

fingers crossed for some west coast dates, but I rather see them in Brooklyn!

I would certainly catch this if it was West Coast, although I wasn't too impressed with their release.

Jonathan Goldberger sat in with JRAD and did a very good Blues For Allah. I imagine that this group will stretch out the improv nicely.

I'm going tonight. I'll be with the Mrs.
One of us will likely be wearing overalls. Come say hello if anyone else goes.  This is not sold out yet.  Last night Russo played there with others including Mike Gordon.

We'll be going to the Portsmouth, NH shows.
I really like the record, some of it has a whiff of 70's Miles stylings.

I've seen Stuart Bogie sit in with JRAD a handful of times, I think he's great.
And Jon Shaw is JRAD's fill-in bassist when Dave Dreiwitz has Ween obligations.
I think this is going to be a very solid, enjoyable live quartet!
