What is the best thing you have ever eaten?

Hmm.  Probably my wife's jambalaya.

Every other, since she started making it, has disappointed in comparison, even (or maybe especially) in Cajun or NOLA-y places.

Vegetarians need not apply.  Shrimp, chicken, ham, chorizo, Andouille sausage, smoked beef sausage...I feel like there may be another pork thingy I'm forgetting...maybe not...

It's difficult to not eat it to the point of paralysis.  It's that good.

She started with a recipe from...I forget...a newspaper, possibly, and tweaked it until it achieved Hell, yeah! status.

So many good foods: split pea and ham soup, thin-sliced venison sammiches, beef on wick, reeses peanut butter cups, fried leftover pot roast with potatoes and carrots served under an egg fried over easy, fresh homemade chicken fingers, chicken french, crispy buffalo wings, and fat chili served on white rice and topped with shredded cheddar, kangaroo steaks, and more.

I had a creme brule once from a market in Paris and ate it right there. It made me stop and that's all I could do for that moment was to enjoy that creme brule. I was almost run over by a car. lovely.
