I was happy seeing Bobby there when he filled in for Peter Rowan. Will definitely pick up tickets to at least one of the dates. Will be interesting to see what they're charging for this show.

Thanks ^

the best balcony seats (at the higher price point) are typically reserved for the club's owners..err Board members. the other  seats in the balcony have awful sight lines.

I haven't seen this group and the Guild is a great little venue and close to home, but if these shows don't include "The Wolfpack" I doubt I'll be going to any of these.

No Pack, just Bros.

Seen many a show there.  Wolf don't knock me out but I'll make an exception for this--great place.  And, literally, 1,000 feet from the site of the old Magoo's Pizza Parlor where they played their first gig as the Grateful Dead--back to where it all began.

I see Molly Tuttle is playing there on April 1 and then off the restof the month, so i suspect she and others will sit in. over the course of the 5 nights.

Lance, I understand your hesitation. After listening to the Colorado shows with the Wolf pack, which are stellar, and something so special, the trio is sparse. But I saw the trio in North Charleston in 2019, and I was overwhelmed. Of course, being on the third row helped. I remember listening to a couple of guys in front of me when Bobby played Desolation Row, and they said, "I think that's a Dylan song." Never a fan of "Easy Answers," but the rendition that night invited me to see it differently. "The Winners" was a highlight. "Sorry but this song [El Paso] ends badly." Anyway, I think it's worth checking them out. Can't complain about the musicianship. Reminds me some of Ratdog in the mid-90's with no lead guitar. I think it's worth the effort to check 'em out.

>>>Reminds me some of Ratdog in the mid-90's with no lead guitar<<<

Yeah, that's the thing... I didn't like mid-90's Ratdog with no lead guitar.

I imagine there will be guests, maybe even some of "the pack" (does Chimenti live in the BA?) but I only became interested in this group when they added the variety of talented players and became a full group, which added significant depth and a dynamic richness to the sound.

I like Weir on his own with an acoustic guitar, but the idea of him TWANGING & JANGLING on electric guitars with only the pedestrian bass player Don Was and the tepid Jay Lane on drums isn't appealing to me. Guests would make it better, but still not the same as a full, rehearsed group.

I'm fairly certain I'll have the opportunity to see one or more of these shows, and at a 500 capacity the venue is intimate and comfortable with good sound, which makes a difference. Weir grew up in Menlo Park, and I would guess that as a kid he went to movies in that theatre so I can see how he might have an affinity for the place, and maybe I'll hear from friends and other reports that the first couple of shows were really good and I'll motivate to give it a shot.

Either way, I think it's cool that he's doing it. A run like this is good for the venue and I'm sure those who are deep into Weir will have a great time.

Yes but

will they finally walk that dinosaur?

Box office saying 2 tix limit pp for the run.

maybe different online?

Got tickets for the Saturday show

Do you guys see bands that do not play Grateful Dead Muzak's?

Lots of them.

Plenty of tix at the box office now

Silly question, T. We're on a GD related fan site so that's typically the ticket chat happening.

Do you guys see bands that do not play Grateful Dead Muzak's? >>>

Yes. I am seeing Mandy Patinkin tomorrow night. I am hoping that maybe he breaks out a FOTD or even a Black Muddy River.

>Molly Tuttle is playing there on April 1

Tix on sale Friday, grab them before the Grammy Awards  on Sunday when she's likely to win  Best New Artist and gets even more notice. The show will sell out fast regardless.

And yeah if Bobby has some special guests like Molly , that will be really cool..

guessing Bobby's 5  shows are all sold out by now. good for him. I'll be at one of them, hopefully she will show up for all of them. Her voice and pickin will be a  welcome addition to the Trio.
